Almost Synchro are a group of 20 Bristol based swimmers, united by a passion for outdoor swimming and performing together. Originally brought together in 2019 as part of a mass synchronised swimming performance to celebrate the centenary of Bristol’s Henleaze Swimming Lake, post-pandemic, a smaller group continued to meet and practice and Almost Synchro was born, ballet leg first!
We continually push ourselves devising, learning and performing new routines taking inspiration from many places including Esther Williams’, Busby Berkeley, The Aqualilllies and even Bollywood!
Always up for a challenge we perform all year round in lakes, rivers and lidos, on the land and in the sea. We would happily splash out a routine in a puddle if the moment took us. Our love of the great outdoors and for open water has brought with it new friendships as well as supporting our physical and mental wellbeing. Now we want to share that love with the world. Whilst we have performed at watery events all over the country we also enjoy using our performances on dry land to draw attention to matters that are important to us such as taking a stand against water pollution and fighting for accessible, safe bathing spaces for all.
